The Ceremony, attended by the Governor General, and addressed by the Prime Minister, capped a full weekend of VP Day commemoration. The choir lead the singing of three hymns and the National Anthem, with music from the RMC Band and the Royal Australian Navy Band.

Several of our ex-servicemen members wore their medals on their choir uniform - a reminder to us that those who have served in the armed forces can be found throughout our community.

Seated facing the War Memorial, choir members had a splendid view of the entire ceremony - but no shelter from the fierce wind, and bright sun. We had the unusual experience of shivering while getting sun-burnt! For this, and loftier reasons, this was a very memorable occasion, and one that we were proud to be able to contribute to.
