VISIT BY SYDNEY WELSH CHOIR IN SEPTEMBER

25 June 2019

Late last year the Sydney Welsh Choir (SWC) inquired whether the ARC would be interested in participating in a joint concert when the choir visits Canberra in September this year. Having regard to the ARC's commitments to other events and activities around the time of SWC's visit (eg annual retreat, preparation for annual concerts), the ARC Management Committee subsequently advised Sydney Welsh that mid-September would not be an ideal time for a joint formal concert, but the ARC would welcome the opportunity to host an informal social event at which our respective members and their partners could meet in a more relaxed social setting to share experiences and perhaps "exchange" some songs.

Sydney Welsh were pleased to take up this suggestion and accordingly the ARC has booked the Top of the Cross room at the Canberra Southern Cross Club, Woden, for a dinner on the evening of Monday 16 September. The function will be at cost to members; details of the event will be advised in the coming weeks and an attendance sheet will be put out at practice following the winter recess. This will be a good opportunity to exchange notes on the activities of our respective choirs and to have some fun in the process. Please save the date in your diaries and come along to provide a warm welcome to our Sydney visitors with a good turn-out of ARC members and partners.

The Sydney Welsh will give a concert at the Yarralumla Uniting Church, at 2pm on Sunday 15 September - see the flyer reproduced on this page.
