Annual Retreat at Goulburn

4 July 2010

The work we put in during the weekend will set us up well for our annual fund-raising Concert on 18 September and for the combined Male Voice Choirs Concert in Sydney on 14 November. To assist planning please put your name on the gig-sheets as soon as practicable if you are attending the retreat, indicating if you will be attending the group dinner on Saturday night (with or without partner). There is also a separate attendance sheet by voice type to facilitate arranging the musical programme.

Transport

Members should make their own arrangements for travel to Goulburn and return to Canberra. Wives/partners are welcome to join members for the weekend (at members' expense).

Meal Arrangements

Morning Tea and Lunch. The ARC will provide morning tea on both days and a sandwich lunch at the conservatorium on the Saturday. You will need to make your own arrangements for lunch on the Sunday.

Saturday Dinner. Dinner on Saturday night will be in the Belmore Room in the Goulburn Soldiers Club, 15 -17 Market Street (overlooking Belmore Park) at 7 for 7:30pm. The menu is three courses with 2 dishes to be served alternately for each of the courses to provide a choice. All main courses are served with a selection of fresh seasonal vegetables. The room has bar facilities and a tea and coffee station will be available throughout the evening. The cost of dinner is $29.50 per head.

The Soldiers' Club requires notification of guaranteed minimum numbers for dinner (ie for which we pay even if fewer people attend) by Friday 30 July. So please complete the gig attendance sheets well before that date. To avoid congestion at the door and obviate handling a significant amount of cash on the night, the cost of $29.50 per head is payable in advance with your dinner booking to Keith Jones or Peter Cole by Friday 23 July. In effect, please make this payment no later than practice night on 20 July, the first after our winter break. Payment of the exact amount would be appreciated.

There is very limited opportunity to revise the numbers upwards after 30 July, so failure to advise and pay is likely to mean you will not get a place for dinner. There will be no opportunity for refunds if you do not attend after booking and paying for dinner.

Sunday Breakfast. Members will need to make their own arrangements for breakfast on Sunday.

Accommodation

We have again reserved a large block of rooms at the GOULBURN CENTRAL MOTOR LODGE (cnr Auburn and Verner Sts), phone (02) 4821 1655, fax (02) 48219242, email , www.centralmotorlodge.com.au. The rooms-rates below are discounted and the motel management has requested that rooms be booked by 7 July. The discounted rate may not be available after that date.
